How to restore healthy democracy ?

I want to start this post with the very first thought that

“Every person may google “define democracy”

OK got it let us begin from there

Definition

Democracy – a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.

or in simple words

Democracy is a system of government where power is in the hands of the people, either directly or through elected representatives. It means that the people get to choose their leaders through voting and can influence decisions that affect their lives.

Democracy is often described as “rule by the people” or “power to the people,” meaning the citizens have a say in how they are governed.

Freedom and equality:

Democracies typically emphasize freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and equality under the law, ensuring that all citizens have a voice and equal opportunity.

Now if we try to test on our individual level – are we living in true democracy??

Hell no !

Power is in the hands of the people??

Really ??

hello that is not power in the hands that is called something else – 😂

Liberals are celebrating their 4th win in Canada while Alberta Conservatives are talking about separation.

Where am I in this equation??

True answer from this spirit – no where.

I can not celebrate win of liberals because I was never included in their so called growth.

But that does not mean I will say slogan of separation.

I am a person who sit under a tree or near a river bank and think free.

What I honestly feel if one party has excessive power that will turn into evil. Does not matter that party is Liberal, Conservative or NDP.

Excessive power can even turn the person into evil and political parties are collective ego or collective evil.

That is how a free person thinks and that is called free thinker.

Should We define a free thinker ??

A free thinker is a person who thinks freely or independently : one who forms opinions on the basis of reason independently of authority.

According to the Collins English Dictionary, a freethinker is “One who is mentally free from the conventional bonds of tradition or dogma, and thinks independently.” In some contemporary thought in particular, free thought is strongly tied with rejection of traditional social or religious belief systems.

What I feel about Canadian politics ??

Canadian politics is polluted with pollution from all around the world at this time.

Truly speaking is it not even Canadian politics in my opinion.

What Alberta conservatives should do ??

Alberta conservatives instead of separation slogans must discuss with conservatives of North BC, conservatives of Saskatchewan & Manitoba to bring the bill of proportional representation.

After all it was Trudeau’s very first promise that put him in the driving seat.

Justin Trudeau misleads Canadians about electoral reform, regrets that he didn’t force through his preferred winner-take-all system.

On October 1, 2024, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau repeated that one of his greatest regrets was not using his 2015 majority government (obtained with 39.5% of the vote) to just force through the voting system he wanted―a winner-take-all ranked ballot system properly called Alternative Vote.

Alternative Vote replicates the problems of first-past-the-post. In some elections, it can produce even more disproportional results.

Well it is never late to correct the deviation in the system.

Just look at Canada’s political map after 2025 federal elections.

One section is red

Other section is blue

and another section is orange.

Is that called multicultural Canada ??

no

In my opinion that is divided Canada.

I live in Alberta and clearly a conservative dominated area.

Charter of rights states every person who has the status of a permanent resident of Canada has the right to move and reside in any province, and to pursue the gaining of a livelihood in any province.

The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the right to move to and live in any province or territory, and to pursue the gaining of a livelihood in any province. Specifically, subsection 6(2) of the Charter states that every citizen of Canada and every person who has the status of a permanent resident of Canada has the right to move and reside in any province, and to pursue the gaining of a livelihood in any province.

how can that be implemented if person do not even feel secure because all provinces are colored differently??

That is not united Canada we want to see.

An electoral reform is must that ensure each province is represented equally and has equal power and say in the country decision making process.

Please look at the this fact sheet

West Canada has 108 seats

1.) Alberta – 37 seats

2.) British Columbia – 43 seats

3.) Manitoba – 14 seats

4.) Saskatchewan – 14 seats

East Canada has 232 seats

5.) Ontario – 122 seats

6.) Quebec – 78 seats

7.) New Brunswick – 10 seats

8.) Newfoundland and Labrador – 7 seats

9.) Nova Scotia – 11 seats

10.) Prince Edward Island – 4 seats

Territories in the North

Yukon – 1 seat

Nunavut – 1 seat

Northwest Territories – 1 seat

In other words federals government is mostly elected by East Canada ??Why would they include people living in the west in their growth??

At least I do not feel included as an Individual Canadian citizens.

That is why I feel differently, I think differently because financially I was ignored for straight 19 years in Canada.

My single vote can change nothing in policy making or changing my individual circumstances.

To assure strong democracy Mr. Mark Carney

Prime Minister of Canada must look into these details.

The good thing is he understands and promised to trigger a byelection to provide opportunity for Pierre Poilievre to compete again as party leader.

That is a good step but not enough to ensure there is strong opposition to compete in a healthy democracy.

Irrespective of what ideology I personally have, it will be so boring if liberals’ win again in the next term for 5th time -lol

As I said any party irrespective of the ideology if becomes too strong that there is no strong opposition is not healthy for a democracy.

Please comment and share to express your opinion. Free thinking is not a crime in Canada’s legal system.

That is what I read when wrote Citizenship examination.

I did not took any classes from left or right while I study for citizenship examination.

I explored all the government website, book stores and other sources to know about Canada.

From 2006 to 2025 I worked for Canada, I stayed in Canada.

I did not build any mansion in other countries.

All I want is equal opportunities as a Canadian Citizen but sorry to say never got equal opportunity till now.

You can not grow me as a Canadian Citizen to a level where I can compete in politics or governing system with a pay cheque of a security guard.

Please acknowledge you failed to provide me resources as a Canadian Citizen.

You still treating me like a temporary worker in Canada.
